Reading Record

Independent Reading Book (IRB)

Students are required to bring a novel that they are reading on their own
in order to meet the requirements of our Independent Reading Program.  Novels are chosen by the students; they can be brought from home or checked out from the library. They must come to class every day and students must prove that they read the book by filling out a weekly reading record, and providing 2  book reports a marking period. These projects will count as a Language Arts test grade and Homework grade.
Each Friday they will receive a reading record that they must fill out and return the following Friday.
Next Reading is Due:  December 6
Next Book Report is Due:  December 20

Current Events Article

In addition to the weekly reading record, I also require a weekly current events article.  Each Friday the students will get a form to fill out and they must return it on the following Friday. (when they will get a new one for the following week)  They may use a newspaper, magazine, or read an article on the internet.... the choice is theirs.
The article must be attached to the form for full credit.
Next Current Events Article is Due:  December 6
